Losing US $38.48 within seconds - the trap named CURRENCY EXCHANGE

Facilitating the usage of various currencies is the advertised purpose of the currency exchange tool of freelancer.com. But actually ripping a user off within seconds. A user has lost his US $38.48 within seconds by using the CURRENCY EXCHANGE tool at freelancer.com.
The user states that to create 4 pieces of milestone payments, each having 120 USD, he wrongly put his money in GBP whereas his initially deposited money was in US dollar. The sooner he realized this, he cancelled the milestone payment to create the milestone payments in US dollar. But when he converted back the GBP amount he got $441.52 for his initially deposited US $480. Net loss is $38.48! The user asserts-

USD and GBP exchange rates doesn't change like that in a second? I know the market. I know that guys would like to get profit but that is cheating. There is no that much high profit in Money Exchange Market? And it is impossible.

Automatic currency exchange
An user reported that when he accepted a work that was to be paid in Indian currency freelancer.com converted the project fee amount in INR from his deposited US dollar. The point is that what conversion ratio did they use. The lesson from the previously mentioned experience is that the conversion ratio was suspicious. The user wrote-

1. I have $200USD in my Freelancer account and NO INR
2. I accept an ‘Indian’ job paid for in rupees
3. Freelancer “convert” MY US$ to INR to pay their commission in (INR), completely ignoring any milestones paid by the Employer
They automatically do it without even asking or getting confirmation.
